Hal Doughty's P-40N #55

Le P-40N de Hal Doughty se retrouve sur plusieurs photos de la collection Adair, reconnaissable à son crâne assez "rond" et aux étoiles peintes sur les flasques de roues.
Hal Doughty's P-40N #55 can be seen on some pics from the Adair collection. His P-40N had stars painted on the wheel hubs.
Here are the four 89thFS + four 90thFS P-40Ns involved in the March,27 mission.

Bad news...

Roy Michael "Mike" McReynolds, son of Burma Banshee Lt. Raymond B. Mc Reynolds, suddenly passed away on Oct.5.
We had been exchanging some infos about his father in the past months. His father's P-40N was #51, according to at least one report. He flew P-40N 42-105961 on Feb. 21, and 42-104583 on the Mar.27, 1944 mission; then shared P-40N 42-104592 with Bob Bell. His P-40 was named "June" after his wife (LaJune).

Majeur

Un étonnant emblème peut être remarqué sur certains P-40Ns du 88thFS: un avant-bras et une main dont le majeur est déployé.
An interesting "extended mid-finger" design can be seen on some 88thFS P-40s.
Another example on this 88thFS P-40N line-up, in this case, on P-40N #27.
